Work Life Balance: A Myth?

  • The OChem Master

"The reality is that there is no such thing as work life balance. Life comes and goes in seasons. Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Life has a cadence. Periods of work and toil followed by periods of lax and ease. An example of this is an entrepreneur who is starting a business. They may try to condense a 15-20 year career into a brutal 5 years of work. That person in the short term is completely off balance but over longer time horizon they regain their freedom and so it balances out on average."

The 35 Hour Rule

  • The OChem Master

"I want to share with you a few frameworks that might be useful for studying for your exams. Most students don't have a set strategy to. In fact, no one strategy works for every class. When asked what is the highest technique, Martial Arts Legend Bruce Lee responded: "To have no technique." What he meant here is that you need to be flexible and adapt based on your circumstances. While your study methods should vary from class to class, there are frameworks you can use as guiding principles."
