Are You A Born Leader?

Leadership is the art of getting people to do what must be done.
There is one essential question about leadership. Can anyone be a leader or is it just for the chosen few?
The truth is that there are many different styles of leadership. Some effective leaders are quiet, others shy. Some are reserved, whereas others are outgoing and gregarious. Some are hyperactive and impulsive. Others are more controlled and methodical.
Some leaders are old, wise, and experienced; while others are young brash and adventurous. Some give speeches; some are nervous in front of the crowd. Some are charismatic, others are effective leaders without charisma. Most people conflate leadership with charisma, but that is simply not the case.
For example:
Mahatma Ghandhi was frail and soft-spoken.
Abraham Lincoln was melancholy and thoughtful.
Winston Churchill was fierce, indomitable, and aggressive much like a bulldog.
Margaret Thatcher was the "Iron Lady," known for being stern and tenacious.
And finally, Martin Luther King was impassioned and eloquent.
This leads us to the central question: Are there characteristics essential to leadership that can be taught?
There are in fact 7 leadership qualities that define great leaders:
Authenticity
Decisiveness
Focus
Personal Touch
Hard/Soft People Skills
Communication
